The First Ever Cultural Festival for and by Nyeri Women. We are redeeming the glory of the Agikuyu traditional Woman and breaking the stereotypes attached to a Nyeri Woman.
The 'Feed 1 For 1' Campaign
The 'Feed 1 For 1' Campaign was initiated by MindMe International, a Non-profit in Kenya.The campaign aims at feeding one family for one week by donating Kshs 1000 or $10 to families living in Kenyas' informal settlements.MindMe International will then purchase the food items and distribute it to the beneficiaries.
The Widows Campaign
This Month on the first Sunday of July we launched a program on Empowering Widows #IAMWIDOWED. A campaign that tells the deep sad evoking story of the independent and yet struggling woman who lost her husband and faces the harsh conditions of being the one to provide for her and her family. As we had breakfast, each unfolding moment the team got the privilege to speak on a one to one basis and got to hear more from their end. Each Widow through one of the board members who inspired this program received a food Voucher of 2,000 from Naivas Supermarket . As we care and share, this campaign needs your help. Let us make their lives bearable by dignifying the lives of these women.
Canons Miraisha Program
Canons Miraisha Program has selected 10 young storytellers from the Mathare community in Kenya to receive a scholarship at KCA University, in a bid to help them develop skills for a sustainable livelihood. One of the programs focal points is to provide employment opportunities to young people across Africa coming from the low socio-economic backgrounds. Miraisha partnered with MindMe International Community Training Program, based in a particularly disadvantaged community in Mathare that lacks employment prospects for young people.
